Uwheru Killings: Egbo Condemns Gruesome Murder By Herdsmen

Following the yearly unabated killing of Agadama and Ohoror indigenes in Uwheru by suspected Fulani herdsmen, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has called on the Delta State governor and representatives of the area to urgently mapped out strategies to put an end to the yearly occurrences.

Lamenting the tragedy that had befell the Uwheru people, Egbo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  hinted that the representatives of people both at the state and national level are not doing enough to address the root cause of the of the problem in other to solve it.

 

He said,  “I am saddened at the gruesome murder of innocent farmers in their ancestral homestead by killer herdmen.

 

“It is even more painful that it has become a tragic recurring decimal that every year the inhabitants of Agadama Uwheru are subjected to this wanton destruction of lives and properties without any tangible solution to the problem.

 

“What i see yearly is grandstanding and photo ops by elected and appointed politicians without addressing the root cause of the problem.

“I call on the Governor and our legislators to put a stop to these wantom killings by investigating the rumoured participation of security agencies in this sad event

I commiserate with the families of the victims and pray that this shall be the end of such tragedy in our fatherland.”
